Macy’s 46th Edition of the 4th of July Fireworks
Over sixty-five thousand shells (approximately 2,000 per minute) are fired off from the East River on five different barges. This spectacle lasts for half an hour and features vivid colors and shapes in 3D with dramatic effects created a mile across the river and thousands of feet in the air. The barges are positioned on the East River with prime viewing from three boroughs.
This year you will witness impressions of aquatic creatures like the Blinking Smiling Face, Whistling Jellyfish, Swimming Chrysanthemums, Little Snakes Swimming, and more.
The fireworks will begin with a pyro salute to the American spirit and showcase tall hats, little snake shells, mushrooms, and a tricolor interlocking ring to cheer the crowd.

The Seaport Beach Fest
Head out for a weekend of revelry, music, and festivities at Fulton St. and head up to Pier 17 in the Seaport from Friday to Monday. You can experience live performances, pop-up bars, and food trucks and relax at the beach.
The buzzing beach will have lounge chairs, sand toys, and umbrellas while rotating food trucks are set by the top eateries around New York, while swanky bars will be set up to elevate your mood with festive libations.
New York City’s best tribute bands will perform summer beach tunes like Eli Escobar and Jimmy Kenny.
On Fulton Street, NYC’s latest concept bar Makitiki will be hosting live music through the weekend with finger food and bar snacks served along with unique concoctions and cocktails. In addition, the Seaport will launch a sculpture by sculptor John Gowdy, a retired New Jersey firefighter.

Shakespeare in the Park
For Shakespeare and theatre enthusiasts, the Public Theater is open to a famous NYC democratic tradition where the legend’s famous plays are enacted in Central Park’s open-air Delacorte Theatre. If you want to watch a 10-feet-wide gigantic disco ball spin to music, head to Josie Robertson Plaza at the Lincoln Center. The massive and glittering disco ball symbolizes independence and pride as it revolves at the center of “The Oasis on NYC’s largest dance floor. The summer season will have a host of music and dance performances that will run through mid-August.
The venue will also include silent discos and a mini film festival held outdoors at the David Geffen Hall. The attendees can redeem free popcorn and drinks while this silent event will have audio transmitted via headphones.
The dance floor opens to the public during the daytime. The Damrosch Park has a capacity of 2,500 seats at its amphitheater, which will host free and live, unplugged performances with singalongs, local graduations, poetry readings, and all-city wedding celebrations.
