Comments Off on The Ultimate Guide to the Spookiest and Coolest Halloween Events in New York City

The spookiest, yet most anticipated season of the year, Halloween, is here. As October ends, fun, horror, and everything in between will be in high gear. Spooky pumpkins, costume parties, parades, corn mazes, and jump scares highlight New York City’s freaky season.

New Yorkers look forward to many events this year, from the Village Halloween Parade to the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. In addition, New York hosts a line of events, including ghost tours, apples, pumpkin picking, skyline cruises, and more. Carmel Limos New York City is operating on high volumes for Halloween this year to ensure that you eat, drink, shop, and party in the Big Apple with world-class landmarks, shopping destinations, restaurants, and iconic skyscrapers galore.

Whether you’re planning to get dressed as the iconic bunny or a grim reaper, becoming the show stopper requires arriving at the party on time. So we’ve curated a special list of Halloween events to participate in while you’re in the city of dreams.

Lively Halloween Parades

New York City is the hub of creative, joyful, and unique, colorful parades. Halloween parties are bewitching. Many New Yorkers get dressed in unique costumes while drums and trumpets in the background elevate the mood. The most happening parades in town include:

The Village Halloween Parade

The Halloween Parade starts at Sixth Ave from Canal St and runs up to 15th St in Manhattan. Each year, a unique theme is set as the event’s backdrop. This year’s theme is “Freedom,” which symbolizes the freedom of the soul and body and carrying a carefree spirit. Free-spirited glittery costumes, the best dance moves, and joyful spirits highlight the theme.

The Brooklyn United Marching Band rolls the drums and plays the freedom theme music with special surprise guests.

The parade starts at 7 pm and goes on until 8:30 pm. The chaotic line-up at East Broome, Canal streets, and Sullivan can be cramping. We recommend booking a Carmel Limo on our mobile app in advance to grab the best spot at the parade.

Marching in the parade is free for the public. However, costumes are mandatory, so make sure you have your best costumes ready. We recommend gathering your monster gang a few blocks away from the procession.

The confetti, spooky music, and intensified Halloween vibes make this parade a cool event to hang out in.

The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze

This year, the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze includes surreal creations like the NYC streetscape made of hundreds of pumpkins and a giant pumpkin dragon.

The two primary venues in the Hudson Valley include the Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson and the Old Bethpage Village Restoration. The key attractions include the animated “Jack Smith” working in his shop and a hive of glowing bees. In addition, more than 7,000 intricately carved pumpkins are glowing and shining along the Van Cortlandt Manor riverside.

The tri-state area offers the most spirited Halloween event for kids and adults. The pretty gourds are a special attraction. In addition, the event presents stargazing by the sea, flying ghosts, larger-than-life sea creatures, and Sleepy Hollow’s Headless Horseman ride into the night at the Pumpkin Planetarium. The fall foliage at Long Island is an artistic delight to the eyes, while all-original soundtracks and synchronized lighting enhance the experience.

Getting to the Blaze

For the upstate event, you’ll need to travel less than an hour from Manhattan to the Van Cortlandt Manor station, which is only a five-minute cab ride or a 10-minute walk to the venue. At Carmel Limos NYC, we’re offering roundtrips from anywhere in New York at the most competitive prices. Book a ride to this venue on our mobile app, or please visit our website to learn more.

For the event at Long Island, we recommend taking a Carmel Limo to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration, which is less than an hour from Manhattan.

An Eerie Visit to the Green-Wood Cemetery

Thousands of spooky stories lie underground at Brooklyn’s historic Green-Wood Cemetery. This season the horror tales will come to life and scare the onlookers at the cemetery tour. The horror quotient will be notches higher than the usual trick-or-treat ritual at home.

Green-Wood Cemetery spans over 478 acres of hills, glacial ponds, hills, and paths that house more than 570,000 souls. Established in 1838, this Cemetery is a National Historic Landmark recognized for its serenity and beauty. Over half a million people visit the Cemetery’s grounds to view and experience the architecture and the untold stories. The upcoming events include:

The Remains of Winter

This event begins on Saturday, October 1, and runs until Friday, December 23. The sculptures and installations by artist Athena LaTocha will transform a section of the Cemetery’s landscape inside Green-Wood’s Historic Chapel.

Additionally, at the foot of Battle Hill, an assemblage of cemetery-based artifacts, including soil, rock, trunks, branches, roots, and lead impressions of tree bark, are up for display.

Green-wood After Hours Walking Tour

Long after Green-Wood closes its gates to the public, its historic grounds open up under the moonlight to the Cemetery’s stunning landscape. The graves of fascinating figures in American history await visitors. This must-do on-foot tour ends at the Catacombs, normally closed to the public.

Warning: This tour is only for the Bravehearts!

Download the Carmel Limo New York City mobile app to book a ride to this spine-chilling venue. We offer many options like sedans, SUVs, minivans, and buses for small and large group tours. In addition, you can opt for a multipoint pickup, drop-off, or roundtrip service for a day-long tour.

Coney Island’s Luna Park Experience

The iconic Luna Park at Coney Island becomes the ideal fall weather destination during Halloween. At designated stations, you can experience fun roller coasters, tractor racing, trick-or-treating sessions, fun balloon twisting, and exciting seasonal decorations. Giant pumpkins will entice visitors at Luna Park’s Halloween Harvest event. Food stalls will be set up throughout the venue, while Half Moon Food Court, Salt & Sizzle, and Coney’s Cones will open up for Halloween binging and food lovers.

The Halloween Harvest is a great opportunity for communities to come together and create everlasting memories with kid-friendly spooky activities that are exciting and one-of-a-kind activities for all ages. Pumpkin spice lovers can dig into Pumpkin-spiced Funnel Cake, Halloween-themed Cotton Candy in purple and orange, and Pumpkin-spiced Gelato.

Other delectable delights on the menu include spooky churros and pumpkin-spice fried Oreos.

Children can indulge in face painting to transform their looks with whimsical and custom-designed brush strokes from professional face-painting artists around the country. In addition, balloon twisting at Luna Park in Coney Island will inspire fun and memories for all ages!

Jump onto Tony’s express, a new custom-made roller coaster running over 40 miles per hour on 1,200 feet of track. Let’s Treasure, a log flume ride including 12 flume boats with a capacity for six guests each, will be operating to cater to families as well.

Get Caught up at the A” maze” ing Maize

This year, tick this activity off your bucket list by solving the maze and twisting and turning through densely-planted corn crops across three acres. First, the team will brief you about the tour during the Stalk Talk orientation session. Then, you’ll get a puzzle-style game board for navigation assistance.

Keep an eye out for informational clues along the way to help complete the maze. In addition, completing the maze will be rewarded you with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the labyrinth from the Victory Bridge.

After solving the puzzle, treat yourself to something from the farm store. The maze gives you a closer look at the farmstand, greenhouse, historic buildings, livestock, and orchard.

Next, check out the Queens County Farm Museum celebrating 325 years this year as New York City’s largest undisturbed farmland. The Maize pays tribute to Georgia O’Keeffe’s “Ram’s Head, Blue Morning Glory” painting this year. Complete your trip with a hassle-free and comfortable ride in a Carmel Limo sedan or SUV, which you can book on our mobile app.

Haunt O’Ween Adventure

This spooky yet quirky fest raises goosebumps with its trick-or-treat-based theme. The walkthrough experience in the tunnel that expands over 200,000 square feet offers a spectacle of glowing jack-o’lanterns. The adventure includes nine “worlds” with different spooky and horror-based themes to explore.

The venue houses a DIY Potion Bar called “Moonlight Magic,” the “Beyond the Grave Rave” dance dome for a full-throttle DJ-hosted Halloween party. The dragon coaster and the haunted carousel are top attractions for children. Call for a Carmel Limo Roundtrip service to spend a wonderful day on this adventure. Please call our customer support team for top service recommendations for your group size.

The 32nd Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade

This fun-filled parade at the East River Park Amphitheatre has pooches and puppies walking in adorable outfits along the parade. The fancy outfits are remarkable and inspired by the Halloween theme. The best-dressed doggo and their human friend receive the day’s big prize.

Many Instagram-worthy pictures can be clicked at the event, and dog lovers are delighted by the antics of puppies. The Carmel Limo team is excited to help our customers attend this event through our seamless services. Please download our mobile app to avail attractive deals and offers.

A live DJ will spark the event with top chartbusters, while the supernatural cocktails and ominous decor send chills down your spine. So get into your best Halloween spirits and costumes and get your tickets for full access to Sky Deck Admission. You can also choose the upper and first deck admission to enjoy the party.
